How to enroll
The course is free and open to everyone — you only need a valid email address to enroll. The course is currently offered in English and Spanish.
The course is broken into three sections, or “modules,” a word used a lot in online education. Each module includes videos, readings, activities and a community discussion group. The modules are self-paced and are designed to adapt to your individual learning needs. We expect each module to take up to 3 hours to complete.
During live sessions, we’ll also offer opportunities to interact with the News Co/Lab course team and special guests through live webinars using Zoom. These sessions will also be recorded if you can’t make them at the scheduled time.
We have also created a three-hour version of the course specifically for healthcare professionals. Eligible participants will earn three continuing medical education units upon completion.
